PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE

Use the Past Continuous with NORMAL VERBS to express the idea that something was happening in a specific moment of the PAST. 


Examples:

  • You were learning English yesterday at 2:00 pm.
  • You were not swimming this morning.
  • Were you sleeping last night?
  • I was sitting.
  • I was not standing.
  • Was he sitting or standing?
  • They were reading their books.
  • They were not watching television.
  • What were you doing yesterday at this time?
  • Why weren't you doing your homework?
